Roommates is about two young adults, Jack and Mary who are stuck living in an apartment together. They despise each other, and seek out ways to get the other to leave. Throw in some alcohol and some inebriated decisions and this simple story becomes hilariously more complex.
Roommates is set to be filmed this summer with the assistance of Glendale Community College of California. Most every roll on set will be filled by a student, making this Glendale College’s first feature film.
As we get closer to filming I will post more info and pictures. As you already know, making a feature is a very large undertaking. We will be funding this mainly out of our own pockets, and getting as much support as we can get from the school. If you are interested in helping in any way to this project, head on over to the Community Page and send us a message.

nicholas WEBER

This first blog is to just quickly update everyone on the Rabble-House Production, Argamo Music Video. While the title is just a working title, it is helpful to keep everyone informed on what type of project this is. They know it is a music video, and that it is for Argamo. How simple.
Currently this production is in between shoot dates. A rough edit has been completed, but we are still waiting to film another part before we can make a final edit and do color correction.
Because this is a music video, I get a bit of a creative license that isn’t offered to me on a normal shoot. I took my dolly and put a crane on top of it, and using those two things in tangent with each other gave me some very interesting shots. I will hopefully be able to post some footage, because I think it is quite amazing.
I also got a chance to mess around with my lighting design. Argamo wanted him to be in full color and glory, but have the background be black, or blank. I could have used a green screen for this, but that would have been way too much work both on set, making sure everything was properly lit, and in post, trying to key out everything and still maintain quality. So what I decide to do was way over light the scene, blowing out everything, then closing the iris so that the background went dark, and Argamo (who before was blown out) seemed to be lit normally. It took some trial and error, but by the end I was very happy with how it all came out.
One final note on this project, the way I got Argamo to play with the final music was to bring in a speaker system and have the music playing in the background and have him play along with it, almost like lip-syncing, but with his fingers. For the most part this worked beautifully, but due to the nature of people never being able to follow something perfectly, it did leave me with some editing problems. Luckily I got enough coverage and was able to make good edit decisions.

nicholas WEBER
